We have so many people to thank for all their hard work not only planning this event but also for participating in it. I know it was very difficult for every vendor that came out and we are hoping to make things much better for next year. July is starting off on a sad note. We no longer have Belinda as our assistant. She has decided to take the summer off to be with her kids. We are all gong to miss her and we hope the best for her. Our Chamber would like to thank her for all her hard work and dedication. We now have Mark Allen substituting as our Administration Assistant. He is stumbling into Belinda’s shoes so please be kind to him until he gains his sea legs!!! Stop by and say hi to him, he is in the office from 9am to 3pm Monday through Friday. We are gong to have a Business After Hours sponsored by Affordable Monuments & Caskets on Tuesday July 14th from 5:30pm to 7pm at the Chamber Building. If you miss this one – you WILL miss out on some good eatin!! Not to mention the fun and networking opportunities. Stop by and say HI to Larry and Brenda Summers. I know they will say HI to you! We also have a very exciting luncheon for you this month. We are having State Senator Wendy Davis and State Representative Chris Turner as our speakers. They are going to share with us some of the exciting things they learned their first year in Austin. They have done a lot of great things for our community during their first term and they would like to share some of this with you. The luncheon will be on July 15th at Life Fellowship Church from 11:30am to 1pm. Do not forget to RSVP. We are going to serve Italian food from Bellavita II. Hope to see you there.

We finally had the opportunity to have our Kar Show and Health Fair June 27th. We had a lot of fun even though the weather was WAY too hot! By 3pm it was 109 degrees in the park and we did a fast wrap up of the events, gave out the awards and finished the raffle items and let everyone go home a little early. To all of you who participated, we greatly appreciate your endurance and participation. To all of you who came out that day, we thank you for enduring the heat. I know it would have been much nicer to stay home in that cool A/C.
We hope next year will not be as bad. We are also hoping to make some major changes to next years venue. We will have a post-mortem meeting on July 13 at 6pm at the chamber building. Please feel free to attend.
