Summer
has finally arrived. We seem to have missed Spring somewhere along the way.
At any rate, here we are. Schools are out, vacations have started and we are
all out to get that glorious tan!
Due to
all of this summer excitement we will NOT be having our Luncheons in July or
August. We will be back in full swing in September. So keep September 17th
open on your calendar. We will be watching for you.
During
this time period you can still use our “Bulletin Board” on the web to advertise
any specials your business may have. We will not email the information out to
our members but we WILL put it on the web for you.
We also
hope to have our Ambassador Committee ready for the September Luncheon. If you
would like to be a part of this committee, please contact Belinda at the Chamber
office. To be an Ambassador you have to be a paid up member, be able to attend
an occasional meeting and several ribbon cuttings. There is a $50.00 membership
fee to join which helps pay for the jacket and pin you will be given. This is a
great opportunity to be first to get your business name out to our new members.
We would
like to offer our members another opportunity to advertise your business.
Starting with the September Luncheon we will have two (2) tables for rent, one
per business. The tables need to be rented and paid for prior to the luncheon.
You can use these tables to advertise your business and/or display products from
your business. You can contact Belinda at the chamber office if you are
interested. It will be a first come, first serve basis. We will only have two
tables so don’t wait.
We have
another exciting event on the horizon. We are planning a “Taste of Kennedale”
which will be held in September. We will be inviting ALL of our members who
deal in foods (restaurants, catering, fast food, etc) to come to the event and
bring samples of their foods. We will also give other vendors an opportunity to
buy a booth at the event to display your products. Watch your News and Views
and the web for further information on this exciting “FIRST” for Kennedale.
We are
now making arrangements for our upcoming Golf Tournament. It will be held on
Monday, October 13 at Tierra Verde. Constable Clint Burgess is the Chairman for
the event this year. If you are interested in helping or participating, please
contact us at the chamber office.

These
are just a few of the ways your chamber is busy at work for you and your fellow
members. If you have any ideas or would like to participate with any of these
events or be on any committees please contact us. We would love to have more
people involved in the things we are doing or planning. The more people we get
involved, the better your chamber will operate.
We hope
you all had a very safe and fun filled 4th of July weekend. Stop by the Chamber
Building between 9am and 2pm Monday through Friday and meet with Belinda and
sign up for some of the fun! --- DON’T LET US HAVE ALL THE FUN WITHOUT
